9 Things I Loved in January

Hey there! Welcome back to another post! I can't believe January is nearly over and the time has been ticking on since I began this fine new website. Let's give it a proper post now, shall we?! ...What a British thing for me to say.. I've watched too many episodes of Black Mirror. But that's for another post. Anyway, I digress - Since January is just about over, I figured I would tell you about some of my go-to January favorites to start off 2018!

There are much too many staples for this month since it is winter and I'm indoors most of the time... as are most people.. I don't know what I'm talking about anymore so let's just get straight into the post!

1) CHAPSTICK AND LOTION!!
This should be on the top of every list, ever. I've been conditioned since birth to put on lotion and chapstick like clockwork everytime my hands are washed. It's a burden feeling like every oil is stripped from your hands after you use a tiny amount of soap. It's weird, I know. But during the winter, this is an essential due to the cold weather. Your hands will never be dry and/or cracked!

2) A Thousand Wishes Perfume from Bath and Body Works
I just bought this scent a couple of days ago and I'm obsessed! My sister has had this scent for awhile and I just smelled it for the first time the other day. I'm not always religious about perfume so I got a tiny bottle for the situations I need it in. Usually on the go before meetings and that fun stuff.

3) Jardin Blanket
I got this at a Christmas party last month and to say I love it is an UNDERSTATEMENT! This blanket keeps you SO warm and cozy. This is the number one cause of my lateness to things. The top is silky smooth and the bottom is fuzzy like wool but soft and touchable unlike anything else! 10/10

4) Leather Rider Boots
These babies have been with me since the fall. Now, living in New York, it isn't the smartest ieda to wear leather boots with zero traction when it's 100% ice outside, but they kept my toesies warm and dry while shoveling. I won't lie, it's caused them a little wear and tear. But Torrid's customer service is incredibly helpful and hooked me up with a new pair for free! Plus, they dress up just about any outfit. Why didn't I discover Rider Boots sooner?

Ok this next one's important.

Ready?

5) Plastic Shovel with a Blade!
This is something that won't be on many January favorites lists but definitely SHOULD be! I'm kind of the designated shoveler in my household so getting the whole front year shoveled on your own can be a bit overwhelming. Luckily, my boyfriend comes over to help! The last storm we had, our shovels disappeared! Thus, we ran to Home Depot in the middle of a terrible snowstorm to get new ones. My boyfriend recommended the plastic ones with blades on the bottom. Plastic so they won't bend unlike metal, and blades at the bottom to break up the ice. He couldn't have been more right! And I can already feel the chuckling. I know, this is like, a common knowledge thing. After many years of shoveling without one, I got excited while discovering this! These came in CLUTCH. I'm telling you. The more I write, the more I'm realizing how much I love these shovels.

6) Ice Melt
The real MVP for years. Doesn't need much justification. It's like cleaning up a murder scene. But melting snow. Lots and lots of snow.

7) Jane The Virgin
If you've been sleeping on this series, DON'T ANY LONGER. OK?! It'll make ya laugh, make ya cry, and throw you for some twists and turns along the way. This totally isn't an ad of any kind. I just love spreading awareness about this show. I just watched the new season premiere so I'm all fired up. It airs on the CW every Friday but you can catch up on the rest of it on Netflix excluding season 4 & 5. Although depending when you read this, it could be up by then. So don't take my word for it. Just watch it though ok?? It's about a girl who swears to stay a virgin and not start a family until marriage until ..err, unexpected circumstances play out.. Y'KNOW WHAT I'M STOPPING THERE CAUSE YOU JUST HAVE TO WATCH!! Soooo good.

8) Old Navy Joggers
These are fantastic for everything. I must say I worship Old Navy. A lot of people don't understand why, but my fellow plus-size beauties with a minimalist fashion sense know how difficult it can be to get your hands on the basics! Plus, Old Navy has incredible sales, which is just the icing on the cake. I can wear these and not feel lazy because they're just adorable. I bought three pairs. Yes, three. The first one because I thought, "Holy s*!+, I can't find these anywhere else so I'm effing getting them." The second pair and third pair were actually bought together after having an internal breakdown of willpower convincing myself that if for any reason, my other pair gets caught in a food processor... and Old Navy burns down tomorrow... I'll never have to worry! It was also a part of a crazy Black Friday sale. I'll most likely end up buying more of these just for the love of these pants. They fit everywhere perfectly, not too tight around the thighs, they have POCKETS, just an 11/10.

9) All Kinds of Teas
Now, I may not sound as passionate about this product as the last, but I simply had to include it given it's been my loyal fave every January since I was around 15 years old. I love Apple Cinnamon tea. It never fails to make me feel like it's fall with a pleasant (not stinging) crisp breeze on my face, warmin' up in front of a fire. Also shoutout to Acai Pomegranate Blueberry Green Tea. Super cheap at any grocery store and feels indulgent. Almost makes me forget I'm drinking leaf water. Drizzle some honey in either of these and you're all set. Big shoutout to the O.G.

And that's about all I've got for my January favorites this month. I'm already storming up on my February favorites but I can't officially say since it ain't February yet. But guaranteed I will be back with that post in another month!

Onward and upward!
